Hotel Colquitt
A harness shop, operated by Bob Bearden stood in this location prior to 1880. Bob Bearden’s harness shop did big business back then because farmers from all over the county would bring their animals to be tailor-measured. Mr. Bearden had a life-size model of a horse in his shop that he used as a guide in his leatherwork.
In 1901, the original Colquitt Hotel was built.

Caroline Barber and Katrina McIntosh conducted research on this building as part of the NSCDA-GA Moultrie Town Committee’s project for America’s 250th birthday. If you have a photo you think would look good on this page, or have missing information, please email mediarequest@moultriega.com.
